American Baptist Churches in the U.S.A.
The American Baptist Churches (ABC)
is commonly thought of as a theologically moderate Protestant Christian denomination.
It was formerly know as the Northern Baptist Convention, but in 1950 changed its
name to the ABC. In 1972 It adopted its current name. The American
Baptist Churches currently has approximately 1,503,000 members with 5415 churches in the United States.
The involvement of the ABC in the FACT project is somewhat complex. 665 churches from three regional divisions (CT, Ohio, and Central) were surveyed. In addition, a general random survey of 800 ABC congregations also was done. A total of 748 questionnaires were returned for a 53.6 % response rate.

If you are interested in obtaining specific information about the results of the ABC survey please get in touch with their official contact person
Richard
Schramm at richard.schramm@abc-usa.org.
Several additional persons were involved in collecting the ABC information.
Paul Light was a key researcher and the person charged with encouraging denominational congregations to use this
information.
